PLAVE has returned, and their most recent song is refreshing. With its blend of playful energy and bittersweet nostalgia, the virtual idol group's new digital single, "Hide and Seek," which was released on September 15th, is already winning hearts.
A few days prior to the release, the group shared their concept photos on social media, which sparked a lot of excitement among fans.
Against the backdrop of a picturesque garden, the members were depicted wearing well-maintained school attire, including jackets, knits, ties, and shirts.
Fans were given a glimpse of the single's sentimental yet youthful atmosphere by the set-up, which had an almost storybook innocence.
Hide and Seek is actually the Korean version of PLAVE’s Japanese debut single Kakurenbo. But this isn’t just a simple translation. The new song features PLAVE's distinctive sound, which combines contemporary K-pop polish with emotive band-style instrumentation.
The song's lyrics depict a realistic tale of young people running alongside one another, their genuine emotions concealed until nostalgia and recollections reveal them all. It's about the feelings that we've all experienced but frequently find difficult to express.
As a group representative explained, “This track will be a song that global fans can enjoy together.” And it certainly feels designed for that, with its sweeping melodies and big, emotional payoff.

The single comes as PLAVE continue their first Asia tour, DASH: Quantum Leap. After kicking things off with a powerful concert in Seoul, they’re now set to perform in Hong Kong (1 October), Jakarta (18 October), Bangkok (25 October), and Tokyo (1–2 November). These live performances are a significant step for a group that started out as virtual idols and demonstrate how genuine their relationship with fans has grown.
Over the past year, PLAVE have carved out a reputation for telling stories about youth, memory, and longing through their music. Hide and Seek feels like a perfect example of that style — intimate yet epic, light-hearted yet moving.
With every release, PLAVE are proving that their world is bigger than just the virtual stage.
