BTS leader RM has impressed fans and bandmates alike by revealing a significant physical transformation as the group prepares for their highly anticipated comeback with the album ARIRANG on March 20, 2026. After completing his mandatory military service in June 2025, RM shared that he has lost 15 kilograms, trimming down from 83.8 kg during his time in the army to 68.8 kg as he gears up for the septet’s first full group return in over three years and nine months.
On February 21, RM took to the fansite Weverse to post a photo of a weighing scale showing his current weight and accompanied it with a motivational message in Korean roughly meaning, “It happens when you do it” — signifying determination and disciplined effort. The candid update prompted an enthusiastic response from fellow member Jin, who replied simply, “Wow, amazing,” highlighting how remarkable the achievement is given the weight loss. RM also confirmed his previous weight during his military service, making it clear just how much he has changed physically in recent months.
RM’s transformation is part of a broader picture of BTS’s preparations for their upcoming comeback. With ARIRANG set to drop on March 20, fans — collectively known as ARMY — are buzzing with excitement as pre-saves and anticipation continue to surge worldwide. The album marks a pivotal moment for BTS, symbolising their transition from individual projects and military duties back to full group activities.
Other members have also been sharing updates: V has hinted at his fitness routine and busy preparations in recent live broadcasts, while Jungkook was seen working out late at night, indicating a focused commitment to performance readiness.
