After more than two years of silence, Suga finally popped back up on Instagram, and the fandom went wild. On September 22, Yoongi shared his first post since August 2023, sending ARMYs into meltdown mode.
The images showed him casually strumming a guitar in what looked like an underground jam session, surrounded by scattered instruments and boxes.
No caption, no open comments. Classic Yoongi. Still, fans on X (formerly Twitter) made sure his name trended within minutes. “Finally my man is back,” one user screamed. Another fan couldn’t stop gushing: “Yoongi, the guitar, the hair, the undercut, the outfit, the aura—YONGIIII.”
A Long Hiatus
Yoongi has been keeping a low profile. He enlisted in September 2023 and only wrapped up his military service in June this year. His last big project before going away was D-Day, the April 2023 solo album that capped his Agust D trilogy. Despite no fresh music during his enlistment, fans kept spinning his tracks, keeping him high on charts.
The DUI Shadow
Of course, Yoongi’s return comes after a rough patch. In August 2024, he was caught riding an electric scooter under the influence. He later admitted the mistake and apologized: “I violated the traffic laws due to me thinking easily that it’s close distance… I bow my head and apologize to everyone.”
Since then, he’s kept things quiet, reappearing publicly only once — cheering for J-Hope during his Hope On The Stage show in Seoul.
