Prime Video’s Two Much With Kajol and Twinkle continues its streak of stylishly honest conversations in its latest episode featuring designer Manish Malhotra and actor Sonakshi Sinha. The duo dives deep into love, work, fashion, and film nostalgia—balancing laughter and heartfelt moments with the trademark banter of hosts Kajol and Twinkle Khanna.
Manish Malhotra opened up about how cinema shaped his life long before he became Bollywood’s most sought-after designer. “I was born interested in movies. At the age of six, I would want to dance to every song, and I was interested in clothes. One thing, I have to give it to my mother; she encouraged my love of films,” he said. His ambition wasn’t just to design outfits, but to transform how movies looked. “I wanted to change the way films look.
Because in the late 80s, movies had stopped looking good. All stars in the 70s were so stylish. From Rajesh Khanna’s kurtas to Amit Ji’s collars, Zeenat Aman and all of them. But in the late 80s, I think that was missing. I was determined that I would only design for movies, and I’ll always be a costume designer.”
The episode also had Kajol sharing a light-hearted behind-the-scenes story from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, which just marked its 27th anniversary.
The sixth episode featuring Manish Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha premieres October 30 on Prime Video, streaming in over 240 countries and territories, with new episodes every Thursday.
“Manish has got me ready for the whole wedding sequence. The lehenga was really heavy, right? I pick up the lehenga and…” she laughs, before Manish cuts in, “Sneakers down!” pointing out that Kajol unknowingly started the trend of pairing sneakers with lehengas. “A lot of girls wear sneakers with their lehengas now,” he added.
