The Dahi Handi celebration in Mumbai is a vibrant and spirited event, marking the festival of Janmashtami, which celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna. Held in various parts of Mumbai, Dahi Handi is a cherished tradition where teams, known as Govindas, form human pyramids to reach and break a pot filled with curd, hung high above the ground. The pot symbolizes the playful and mischievous nature of young Krishna, who, along with his friends, would steal butter and curd from the pots hung by the village women.
