Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has once again stirred conversation online, but this time not with a film — rather, with a cryptic and emotionally charged blog post addressing the weight of constant public criticism.
Known for his eloquent writing and reflective insights, the actor recently broke his social media silence to express frustration with the endless scrutiny he faces — from his signature to his public appearances.
The 81-year-old star took to his personal blog, writing: “They tell me to change my signature .. to not put dots in it .. to not put curved lines .. to wear this to wear that .. to not visit here or there .. to not talk here, to not talk there .. when you talk they say why do you talk .. when you do not talk they say why you do not talk.”
In a touching tribute, he also shared lines from the poetry of his late father, legendary writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan. “I may be carefree for myself; but I care for all … I know that there is no value within me; but even then I keep a valued relationship, a propinquity, with some,” he quoted. Reflecting on life and personal growth, he added, “I have learnt how to live life, from the seas and oceans; to flow quietly and exist in your own ardor, your own avidity and zest… my gratitude and my affection.”
The veteran actor didn’t stop there. He also touched upon India’s recent economic milestones, celebrating the nation surpassing Japan to become the fourth-largest economy in the world. “And in another 2.5 to 3 years,” he predicted, “India shall become the 3rd largest economy in the world!!”
Amitabh Bachchan also praised the courage of India’s youth in uniform, particularly the Agniveers — young soldiers enrolled under the Agnipath scheme. Commending their patriotism and discipline, he said, “These soldiers serve for four years, gaining vital military experience. Agniveers represent a bold step in modernizing India’s defense forces with youth, energy, and nationalistic spirit at their core.”
