Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has recently congratulated Mohanlal on receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2023. The seasoned actor referred to the honour as a "well-deserved recognition" on social media.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle and tweeted, "Mohanlal Ji, I am truly delighted that you have received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award – it is such a well-deserved recognition! Many congratulations. I am a great admirer of your work and craft.”

Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal have co-starred in films like Kandahar (2010) and Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007).

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar also congratulated Mohanlal on his big win. He wrote on X, “Heartiest congratulations, @Mohanlal sir, on being honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Every time I’ve had the chance to meet you or observe your work, it’s been like sitting in the front row of the greatest acting school ever. This recognition is so richly deserved. Respect and love.”

On September 23, 2025, Mohanlal will receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2023 for his cinematic experience at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting made the announcement.

On the work front, Mohanlal is gearing up for the release of Vrusshabha, written and directed by Nanda Kishore, on October 16, 2025.
