The Warangal Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana presents a fascinating political landscape. Historically aligned with the Congress party since its establishment in 1952, this constituency stands as a significant political bastion in the state, second only to Hyderabad in size. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate, Dayakar Pasunoori, secured a resounding victory with 612,498 votes, capturing 58 % of the total votes cast. This marked another triumph for the TRS in Warangal, further solidifying their dominance in the area. The defeat of the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate, Dommati Sambaiah, who garnered 262,200 votes, underscored the continued popularity of the TRS among the electorate.
