Andhra Pradesh Assembly Results 2024: Constituencies YSR Congress won and lost

Andhra Pradesh Assembly election 2024, voter registration in Andhra Pradesh saw nearly 40 million registrations, including approximately 20 million male voters, 20.1 million female voters, 3,421 third-gender voters, and 68,185 service electors.

On May 13, Andhra Pradesh conducted elections for its 175-member state assembly and 25 Lok Sabha seats in a single phase. The incumbent YSR Congress Party secured 11 seats, while the Telugu Desam Party emerged victorious with a significant margin, securing 135 out of 175 seats. The Jana Sena Party also made its mark by securing 21 seats, and the BJP managed to secure eight seats.

This year, voter registration in Andhra Pradesh saw nearly 40 million registrations, including approximately 20 million male voters, 20.1 million female voters, 3,421 third-gender voters, and 68,185 service electors. The Election Commission’s Voter Turnout app reported a 69.49% participation rate in the Lok Sabha elections and a slightly higher turnout of 69.61% in the Assembly elections on May 13.

In the previous 2019 assembly elections, the YSRCP, led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, secured a landslide victory with 151 seats, while the TDP managed to secure 23 seats, and the Janasena Party won one. Neither the Congress nor the BJP managed to secure any seats. The YSRCP captured 151 seats with a 49.95% vote share, while the TDP secured 23 seats with 39.17% of the vote, and the JSP won one seat.

In the 2019 state Legislative Assembly elections, the YSR Congress had won with a landslide 151 seats, most of which it has lost in 2024. Jagan Mohan Reddy secured victory in the Pulivendula assembly seat for the third consecutive term, with a margin of just over 65,000 votes. However, several of his cabinet colleagues, including Botsa Satyanarayana, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Ambati Rambabu, actress-turned-minister RK Roja, and Gudivada Amarnath, among others, faced defeat in their respective constituencies.
