J&K Winter Vacation 2024: Holidays Begin on Dec 10 for Students Up to Class 5, Dec 16 for Classes 6-12

The Department of School Education in Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced the schedule for winter vacations for schools in the Kashmir valley and the winter zone areas of the Jammu division. The announcement was made by the Minister for School Education, Sakina Itoo, who shared the official order on X, confirming the vacation dates and guidelines.

Vacation Schedule

The winter break has been divided into two categories based on the class levels of students:

• For students up to Class 5: The winter vacation will commence on 10 December 2024 and continue until 28 February 2025. This extended break ensures that younger students can remain indoors and avoid the extreme cold conditions typical of the region.
• For students in Classes 6 to 12: The vacation period for older students will begin slightly later, on 16 December 2024, and will also conclude on 28 February 2025. This staggered schedule helps balance academic requirements and weather-related challenges.
