The Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced a 10% reservation quota for Agniveers in government jobs. This decision is aimed at providing better opportunities for Agniveers, who serve in the Indian Army under the Agnipath scheme.

Speaking at a press conference on July 17, CM Saini highlighted the importance of the Agnipath scheme, under which Agniveers are deployed in the Indian Army for a period of four years. "Our government will provide 10% horizontal reservation to Agniveers in Haryana in direct recruitment to the posts of Constable, Mining Guard, Forest Guard, Jail Warden and SPO recruited by the state government..."

In addition to the reservation, the Haryana government will offer a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit prescribed for government posts in Group B and C. For the first batch of Agniveers, this age relaxation will be extended to five years. This initiative is expected to ease the transition of Agniveers into civilian roles, providing them with greater employment security.

CM Saini further announced a 5% horizontal reservation for Agniveers in direct recruitment to civil posts in Group C and a 1% horizontal reservation in Group B. This inclusive measure aims to integrate Agniveers into various levels of government service, recognizing their dedication and service to the nation.

In a bid to encourage private sector employment for Agniveers, the Haryana government will provide a subsidy of Rs. 60,000 per annum to industrial units that offer Agniveers a monthly salary exceeding Rs. 30,000. If Agniveer is given a salary of more than Rs. 30,000 per month by any industrial unit, then our government will give a subsidy of Rs. 60,000 per annum to that industrial unit..." he said.
