Meerut murder case: Police book Instagram user for posting AI-generated video of cop dancing with accused Muskan Rastogi

Muskan and Sahil Shukla are now in the Chaudhary Charan Singh Jail in Meerut for the murder of Saurabh Rajput.

The Meerut police in Uttar Pradesh have booked an Instagram user for allegedly posting an AI-generated video showing a police inspector in uniform dancing with Muskan Rastogi, who is charged with murdering her husband, Saurabh Rajput, with the assistance of her boyfriend, Sahil Shukla.

The video, which circulated widely on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram, supposedly featured Muskan, 26, with a cop in a compromising position.

Ayush Vikram Singh, Superintendent of Police (SP), Meerut City, informed that the video was created with the help of artificial intelligence, and the police traced the ID through which it was uploaded on social media.

Vikram Singh stated, “The Instagram ID is registered with the name Priyanshu Rocks, who has been booked under the Information Technology Act Section 66 (computer-related offences). The inquiry has been handed over to the cyber cell of the Meerut police.”

"The video was uploaded in bad taste and has the potential to damage the reputation of the UP police. As a result, we have decided to take legal action against those responsible for these malicious activities," he said.

“Police action will be taken soon against those who created the video and those who uploaded it. Furthermore, anyone other than those already charged by the Brahmpuri police found to be sharing false videos regarding murder accused Muskan and Sahil will face similar consequences,” he added.

Notably, similar objectionable videos allegedly featuring Muskan and co-accused Sahil Shukla have also surfaced online, including a clip purportedly depicting their involvement in the crime.

Muskan and Sahil Shukla are now in the Chaudhary Charan Singh Jail in Meerut for the murder of Saurabh Rajput. They have been accused of killing him and dismembering his body parts on the night of March 3 at her rented apartment in the Brahmpuri locality.
