Skoda Auto India registered its highest-ever half-yearly wholesales in the country during the period from January to June 2025 on the back of a handsome performance by the Kylaq compact SUV.
The domestic volumes of the carmaker jumped 134% year-on-year (y-o-y) at 36,194 units in H1 2025 from 15,464 units in the year-ago period. The main push came from the Kylaq as it recorded wholesales of 23,714 units.
This was the best half-yearly performance by the Czech brand in terms of volumes since its entry in India in 2001. The previous best half-yearly wholesales were recorded in 2022 at 28,899 units.
Apart from the Kylaq, the carmaker offers models like the Kushaq mid-size SUV, Kodiaq premium SUV and Slavia mid-size sedan.
Skoda claimed that it is now among the top seven automotive brands in India, a jump of four positions from its rankings in 2024.
The company started the customer deliveries of the Kylaq in January 2025. It launched the second-generation Kodiaq in April 2025.
While the volume-driver Kylaq is priced between Rs 8,25,000 and 13,99,000 (ex-showroom), the Kushaq sits in the price bracket of Rs 10,99,000 to 19,11,000 (ex-showroom). The flagship Kodiaq can be had in the price range of Rs 46,89,000 to 48,69,000 (ex-showroom). The price of the Slavia starts at Rs 10,49,000 and goes up to Rs 18,39,000 (ex-showroom).
Skoda recently announced that India is its most important growth market outside Europe, with the carmaker looking to expand its product portfolio as well as network.
The company will now launch a new global sedan in India. Also, from the current 165 cities and 295 touchpoints, it aims to be in 200 cities with 350 touchpoints by the end of 2025.
