A purported video of senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Saifullah Kasuri has surfaced, in which he issues an open threat to India and vows “retribution” for Operation Sindoor.
In the nearly two-minute video, Kasuri, the alleged mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack, directly addresses Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying their “resolve remains strong” and that soon “the rivers and dams of Jammu and Kashmir will belong to us.” He further declares, “It’s a tough time but we will avenge the blood of our brothers.”

According to top intelligence sources, as quoted by CNN-News18, Pakistan’s banned terrorist outfits are openly operating under the guise of flood relief in areas such as Bahawalpur in South Punjab. Bahawalpur, known as the nerve centre of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) operations, was among the targets of India’s precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on May 7. The intelligence sources told News18 that the Pakistani government and army are funding these outfits, including the LeT, in the name of flood relief and without any audit.
Kasuri is described as a senior LeT commander and handler of The Resistance Front (TRF), which was involved in the Pahalgam attack. He is known to work closely with Hizbul Mujahideen and other Lashkar commanders, coordinating multi-group terror plots with logistical and tactical sophistication.
Despite repeated objections from India, the sources said Kasuri remains publicly visible in Pakistan, delivering anti-India speeches at rallies and engaging in propaganda and radicalisation activities as force multipliers. They added that he enjoys state patronage and safe havens in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with indications of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) facilitation and political shielding.
The video emerged a day after a JeM commander admitted that the family of terrorist Masood Azhar was “destroyed” during Operation Sindoor on May 7. A video of that statement was released on Tuesday, September 16.
Kasuri’s claims are being seen as a matter of serious concern, especially as Pakistan continues to deny terror-funding activities before the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and other international watchdogs.
