US President Donald Trump announced the appointment of Sergio Gor as the next U.S. Ambassador to India. In addition to this role, Gor will also serve as the Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.
President Trump announced on Truth Social, where he referred to Gor as a “great friend” and confirmed his nomination for the diplomatic post.
The president highlighted Gor’s involvement in key aspects of his political journey, noting his contributions to the campaigns, book publishing, and leadership of a major super PAC backing the movement.
“He worked on my Historic Presidential Campaigns, published my Best Selling Books, and ran one of the biggest Super PACs, which supported our Movement," Trump mentioned.
“For the most populous Region in the World, it is important that I have someone I can fully trust to deliver on my Agenda and help us, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. Sergio will make an incredible Ambassador. Congratulations Sergio!” Trump added.
Gor is currently serving as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office and will continue in this role until his nomination is confirmed.
His nomination comes nearly seven months after Eric Garcetti stepped down as the 26th US Ambassador to India.
Sergio Gor expressed gratitude to President Trump for his trust and confidence, saying:

Who is Sergio Gor?
Sergio Gor, born Sergio Gorokhovsky on November 30, 1986, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, later moved to the US and studied at George Washington University, where he was active with the College Republicans.
He began his political career as a spokesman for GOP lawmakers such as Michele Bachmann, Steve King, and Randy Forbes. In 2013, he became communications director for Senator Rand Paul’s RANDPAC, maintaining a close working relationship with the senator.
In 2021, Gor co-founded Winning Team Publishing, a conservative publishing company behind several Trump-related books, including Letters to Trump and Our Journey Together. He also led the pro-Trump super PAC, Right for America.
