Newly released documents from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate reveal that Elon Musk and the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, appear in the late financier’s schedules and flight logs, according to Democrats on the House Oversight Committee.
The records list Musk as a possible visitor to Epstein’s Little St. James private island on December 6, 2014. Epstein’s daily schedule included a note: “Reminder: Elon Musk to island Dec.6 (is this still happening?).”
Prince Andrew is listed as a passenger on a flight aboard Epstein’s private jet from Teterboro, New Jersey, to Palm Beach, Florida, on May 12, 2000, alongside Epstein’s accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell. During Maxwell’s trial, one accuser stated she was 14 when Andrew was aboard Epstein’s jet with her.
The documents also mention Epstein’s meetings with other high-profile figures, including a lunch with tech billionaire Peter Thiel on November 27, 2017, and a breakfast with former Trump adviser Steve Bannon on February 16, 2019. Bannon served as CEO of Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and White House chief strategist in 2017.
Sara Guerrero, spokesperson for Oversight Democrats, said: “It should be clear to every American that Jeffrey Epstein was friends with some of the most powerful and wealthiest men in the world.”
The House Democrats released a third batch of records from Epstein’s estate, which names Elon Musk, Steve Bannon, Bill Gates, Peter Thiel, and Prince Andrew in schedules, flight logs, and financial ledgers. The documents suggest Epstein maintained contact with influential political and business figures years after his 2007 conviction for sex crimes.
A Republican spokesperson criticized the Democrats’ release, accusing them of “meaninglessly cherry-pick[ing] documents and politicize this investigation,” and claimed that information about Democrat officials was being withheld.
Democrats stressed that there is no evidence indicating that any of the named individuals were aware of Epstein’s sexual abuse of teenage girls. The records, which include schedules, flight logs, financial ledgers, and phone messages, show Epstein’s ties to some of the world’s wealthiest and most influential men.
The documents note Musk’s tentative trip to Epstein’s island, with a handwritten comment asking, “Is this still happening?”
