Actress Alia Bhatt is currently making headlines at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where she achieved a proud milestone by being honoured with the Golden Globe Horizon Award.
The festival announced the recognition on its official Instagram page, sharing a photo of Alia alongside Hend Sabry.
The caption read, "We’re proud to partner with the Golden Globes Awards to honor Hind Sabri with the Omar Sharif Award and Alia Bhatt with the Golden Globe Horizon Award on the sidelines of the 5th Red Sea International Film Festival. Noteworthy, these two awards highlight the achievements of the brightest creative talents in the Middle East and North Africa."
Alia's journey from newcomer to one of Indian cinema's most versatile and lucrative performers was chronicled in a festival tribute featuring a specially curated showcase of her filmography.
Her development as an actor was showcased in the segment, which revisited notable roles from Highway, Dear Zindagi, Gangubai Kathiawadi, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, and Brahmastra. The emotional depth and range she has demonstrated in arthouse drama, mainstream romance, biographical storytelling, and large-scale commercial cinema has been enthusiastically received by viewers worldwide.
As reported by Deadline, Alia also shared exclusive insights about her upcoming film Alpha, presenting an early look at the project at the event. She unveiled select visuals that offered attendees a taste of the film’s tone, scale, and action-driven energy.
Speaking about the film, she said, “Alpha is the first female-led action film from the YRF universe, so that’s also a risk, because you’ve not historically seen that perform in the same way that the other male-led films have performed."
The YRF spy film will also feature Sharvari in a leading role and is expected to include a cameo by Hrithik Roshan. Alpha will mark the seventh installment in YRF’s expanding Spy Universe, following Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and the upcoming War 2.
Originally slated for a Christmas 2025 release, the film has now been postponed. Yash Raj Films confirmed that the eagerly awaited action entertainer will hit theatres on April 17, 2026, explaining that Alpha’s VFX requires additional time to achieve the best visual quality for audiences.
