Sony is gearing up to launch the next version of its PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming console, which will be a mid-cycle follow-up to the original, which was launched in 2020. A recent blog post celebrating Sony PlayStation’s 30th anniversary has included an intriguing image that showcases two distinct PS5 consoles.
One of the consoles closely resembles the existing PS5 and another with a new design has sparked speculation about the PS5 Pro. Many PlayStation fans quickly noticed this development and shared this teaser on multiple social media platforms. This design closely resembles the sketch of the PS5 Pro leaked last week in a report by Dealabs.
According to this leak, the upcoming PS5 Pro’s packaging will showcase these distinct stripes, which is very different than the single stripe on the PlayStation 5 Slim. While an official announcement wasn’t expected this soon, Sony appears to have teased the PlayStation 5 Pro’s design in a subtle, but effective way.
The upcoming PS5 Pro will notably offer a more powerful GPU than the current iteration and will have a 45% increase in rendering speeds. The memory speed on the PS5 Pro is expected to reach 576GB/s, which marks a 28% boost from the current 448GB/s memory speed. However, the CPU is expected to remain largely the same, aside from running at a boosted clock speed.
We can expect the PlayStation 5 Pro to launch by the end of this year, and a release date in India could happen by early next year.
