Japanese video game publisher SEGA and developer Sports Interactive have announced Football Manager 26, the next game in the series of football management simulation titles. The publisher made the announcement on its website. However, the announcement post does not come with a release window or even the platforms Football Manager 26 (FM26) will launch on. Note that Sports Interactive had earlier decided to cancel an unpolished Football Manager 25 to work on the Football Manager 26
As per Sports Interactive, “FM26 promises to take players on a journey to define their footballing destiny with our most immersive and visually rich Football Manager experience yet. The potential for storytelling is redefined by taking players closer to the heart of the beautiful game.”
The developers shared a 30-second teaser video for the game. The brief announcement post ends with: “This is just the beginning so stay tuned for further updates. Football Manager 26 - Coming Soon.”
In February, Sports Interactive had announced that it was cancelling the twice-delayed Football Manager 25 since it was not satisfied with the quality of the game and was going to focus on Football Manager 26. The developer said on its website that “the overarching player experience and interface” in Football Manager 25 was not where they needed it to be, and they have made “the difficult decision” to cancel the game after “extensive internal discussion and careful consideration” with publisher SEGA.
