Microsoft Bing now lets you create AI videos for free, here’s how

Microsoft has launched a major new AI feature inside Bing called Bing Video Creator, a free video-generation tool powered by OpenAI’s Sora model. Now available on the Bing Mobile App and rolling out to desktop soon, the feature allows anyone to turn written prompts into 5-second videos—no editing skills or subscriptions required.

Just type what you want to see—say, “a small otter working as a pizza chef in Italy”—and Bing does the rest. The tool then generates a vertical (9:16) video, with widescreen (16:9) support promised in future updates.

Accessible via the Bing app’s bottom-right menu or simply by typing “Create a video of…” in the search bar, Bing Video Creator aims to bring AI-powered storytelling to everyone. You can queue up to three video generations at a time, with notifications alerting you once your videos are ready. Videos can be downloaded, shared via social media, or accessed via direct link—and they’ll remain stored for up to 90 days.

This rollout is part of Microsoft’s broader push to integrate AI creation tools across its ecosystem, and it doubles down on Bing’s new role as both a search engine and a creative assistant. The company calls the new feature a step toward “democratizing” AI video generation—bringing imaginative, visual expression to everyday users.

While tools like OpenAI’s Sora remain closed to the public, this Bing integration offers a glimpse of what AI-generated video can do today, for free. It may only be five seconds long (for now), but it’s another sign that AI-powered creativity is going mainstream—one prompt at a time.

To try it out, just download the Bing Mobile App and look for “Video Creator.” Desktop access via Bing.com/create is coming soon.
