Microsoft is now providing Bing users with a new ‘Copilot Search’ mode for the web browser’s native search engine, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance search results with more personalized and context-aware responses. It looks different from the main Bing Search preview mode and provides links to relevant web pages with their source articles.
Microsoft Bing’s AI ‘Copilot Search’ mode: Key detailsThis new mode was spotted by Windows Latest, with Bing showing search results as generated by Copilot on the entire page. With this 'Copilot Search’ tool, Bing utilizes Copilot AI's language processing to refine and expand the query. It then performs multiple related searches simultaneously before displaying the results.
Further, the publication adds that Copilot will summarize everything about the user's question without the user needing to scour the web for relevant information. When receiving answers, AI Search will provide a brief explainer before diving into organized pieces of information. Early tests show the right side of the search pane will offer tabs for media files, while the UI's bottom section gives you suggested follow-up questions and the ability to write feedback for other users.
The report also mentions that this AI search mode is currently in the experimental stage, and it is currently unknown when it will be widely available for all Bing users. However, as the current experience is buggy, slow, and often produces inaccurate results, the tech giant has assured that it will eventually get better in the coming months.
