Less than a month after Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal announced separation from husband Parupalli Kashyap, also a badminton player, love has found its way back. Nehwal shared a photo along with Kashyap on Instagram on Saturday evening. "Sometimes distance teaches you the value of presence. Here we are — trying again," wrote Nehwal in her caption along with two heart emoticons.
The couple had previously decided to part ways, with Nehwal also making the decision public. The ace shuttler had revealed the same on Instagram. Nehwal then stated that the decision was taken after “much thought and consideration”.
“Life takes us in different directions sometimes,” Nehwal wrote. “Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We’re choosing peace, growth, and healing - for ourselves and each other. I’m grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward.”
The couple tied the knot on in December 2018. Their love blossomed on the badminton court as they used to train together at the Pullela Gopichand Academy in Hyderabad.

Nehwal is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in the sport at the London 2012 Games. Over the years, she amassed numerous titles, including the 2009 BWF Super Series and two Commonwealth Games gold medals.
Kashyap, on the other hand, is a 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medallist.
How did internet react to the news?
Social media can be fickle and tend to have divided opinions. While few congratulated the couple for giving the relationship a second chance, many argued: "majak chal raha hain? (Is it a joke?)". Some even tried trolling the shuttler, by referring the post as a "publicity stunt".
