Saina Nehwal

One of India’s greatest badminton stars, Saina Nehwal, has announced her separation from former Indian shuttler and husband Parupalli Kashyap. The news was shared on her social media on 13 July 2025 as the couple is bringing an end to their marriage of nearly seven years. They got married in December 2018.

In her emotional post, Saina wrote: "Life takes us in different directions sometimes. After much thought and consideration, Kashyap Parupalli and I have decided to part ways. We're choosing peace, growth, and healing – for ourselves and each other. I'm grateful for the memories and wish nothing but the best moving forward. Thank you for understanding and respecting our privacy during this time."

Mary Kom

Indian Olympic medallist boxer Mary Kom confirmed her separation from husband Karung Onkholer in a statement posted on social media on 30 April 2025. Mary Kom and Onkholer got married in 2005.

In her statement, she addressed:“In the light of these speculative and incorrect media reports, I wish to issue the following clarifications: Ms. M.C. Mary Kom and Mr. Onkholer (Onler) Kom are no longer married and they have finalized their divorce by mutual consent under KOM CUSTOMARY LAW on December 20, 2023, in the presence of both family members and leaders of the clan as the adjudicating authorities."

Team India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma officially got divorced on 20 March 2025. The Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted the divorce. As per reports, Dhanashree was set to receive an alimony of ₹4.75 crore as part of the settlement.

Chahal and Dhanashree had tied the knot in December 2020. However, over the past few months, there were reports that the couple had been living separately. So far, no specific reason for the divorce has been made public.

Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka announced her separation from American rapper Cordae in January 2025. The two had been together for five years and also share a daughter. The news came as a surprise to fans.

In her statement, Osaka wrote: "He's a great person and an awesome dad. Honestly really glad our paths crossed because my daughter is my biggest blessing and I was able to grow a lot from our experiences together."

Russian-born Australian tennis player Arina Rodionova announced her divorce from husband Tyrone Vickery, a former Australian rules footballer, in January 2025. The couple had tied the knot in 2015.

In a video shared on Instagram, Rodionova and Vickery revealed that they had already been separated for over a year.

Rodionova said: “Hey guys, we've got a quick announcement to make: we're getting divorced. We have been separated for over a year. Friends and family know but we just wanted to let the wider community know about this situation.”

Vickery also spoke in the video, saying: “Yeah we're good… we're good with each other. Wish each other the best. Thanks for your support.”
