Paris Olympics 2024, India's schedule on Day 8: After a disappointing Day 6, India had a lot to cheer on Day 7 of the Paris Olympics. Manu Bhaker - the Indian shooting sensation, who has already bagged two medals at the ongoing Games, qualified for the women's 25m pistol final, finishing second in the qualification. She has now raised hopes of a third Olympic medal and Indians surely will hope this to be the case on Saturday in the women's 25m air pistol final. The event starts at 1:00 pm IST. Apart from her, India's most reputed archer Deepika Kumari will be in action in the women's individual 1/8 elimination round. Bhajan Kaur, also an Indian archer, will also take the field in the same event. Deepika is pitted against Germany's Michelle Kroppen, while Bhajan will be up against Indonesia's Diananda Choirunisa. If things go well, the two can also go on to help India's cause in claiming its first medal in archery at the Olympics. The medal rounds for the women's individual archery event will be held in the evening around 6:00 pm IST.
The final act of the day will see Olympic debutant Nishant Dev take on Mexico's Marco Verde in the men's welterweight quarterfinals. A win for Nishant will assure him at least of a bronze.
