Virat Kohli's woes continued in Sydney as India's star batter was dismissed for 17(69) by Scott Boland in the second session on Day 1 of the fifth and final Test against Australia. Kohli once again fell prey to a delivery pitched outside off-stump, an area the talismanic batter has been struggling with.
Kohli's dismissal took place in the 32nd over when Boland pitched a back of a length delivery, tempting the batter to go after it. Kohli did the same and got a leading edge in the process before Beau Webster, who replaced Mitchell Marsh in Australia's playing XI, completed an excellent catch at the slip cordon.
This is the seventh time when Kohli has been dismissed poking the ball outside the off-stump. Here's the video:

Meanwhile, Kohli was dropped in the first ball he faced in the match, which was also bowled by Boland. The Aussie quick had employed a similar line and length as Kohli nudged the ball and got a leading edge in the process. However, the former India skipper was lucky as Steve Smith dived low to grab the ball and scooped it before another fielder at the slip cordon completed it.
While Smith felt that it was a clean catch the umpires sent it upstairs to have a closer look. After lengthy assessment, the TV umpire ruled that the ball was grounded by Smith, which the Australian denied during the Lunch interval but accepted umpire's decision.

Kohli on his off-stump woes
Kohli ahead of the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, which India lost by 184 runs, had admitted he has not been disciplined enough while reflecting on the nature of his dismissals.
"I have not been disciplined enough to stick in there and really grind it out. That is the challenge Test cricket brings," Kohli had then said to Fox Sports.
