India bowled out Australia for just 104 runs in 51.2 overs on Day 2 of the first Test in Perth, securing a crucial 46-run lead. Interim captain Jasprit Bumrah led the charge with a sensational five-wicket haul, his 11th in Test cricket, showcasing his skill and leadership. Harshit Rana also made a significant impact, claiming three wickets to further dent the Australian innings.
Resuming the day at a precarious 67/7, Australia’s tail-enders Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood showed remarkable resilience. Their gritty 25-run partnership off 110 balls frustrated the Indian bowlers and delayed the inevitable. However, India’s persistence paid off as they wrapped up the innings in 51.2 overs to gain the upper hand. In the stands, Virat Kohli's wife, Anushka Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah’s wife, Sanjana Ganesan, were visibly relieved as the final wicket fell, a moment that quickly went viral on social media.
