A powerful explosion struck Quetta on Tuesday near the eastern side of the Frontier Corps headquarters, claiming at least eight lives and injuring 19 others.
Times Now reported that those killed in the blast include three Frontier Corps personnel.
Eyewitnesses reported a massive plume of smoke rising from the scene, with subsequent gunfire adding to the chaos and fear among local residents. As per media reports, the blast was so intense that it shattered windowpanes of nearby homes and commercial buildings, sending shockwaves across Model Town and adjoining areas.
Emergency response teams, including rescue personnel and security forces, quickly arrived at the site, securing the area while a thorough search operation commenced. Authorities transferred the injured and deceased to Civil Hospital Quetta, with similar alerts issued at BMC Hospital and the Trauma Center. Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar instructed all medical staff, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and paramedics, to report for emergency duty to manage the sudden influx of casualties.
