The Asia Cup final presentation ceremony drew plenty eyeballs after the Indian cricket team declined to accept the trophy from Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who is the chairman of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). India registered a thrilling five-wicket victory against arch-rivals Pakistan to clinch a record-breaking ninth continental title in Dubai on Sunday.
The chairman of the ACC and Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, and his entourage was just 20 to 25 yards from where the "Men in Blue" had assembled. The BCCI reportedly told their ACC point person that the team would not accept the award from Mohsin Naqvi because of his strong anti-India views.

In an extraordinary turn of events, none of the Pakistani players were there for the ceremony during the first hour of the postponed presentation. Even former cricketer-turned-commentator Ravi Shastri, in his post-match analysis slammed the organisers for delaying the ceremony.
Shastri, flanked by Wasim Akram, said: “The players are being made to wait to lift the trophy, or that presentation ceremony to happen. It’s worthy of a final, the game, and then you hang around for 45 minutes after a game, still not knowing what’s happening. It’s ridiculous.”

Aside from Naqvi, the Indian team was reportedly open to accepting the trophy from any of the other dignitaries on the stage. Khalid Al Zarooni, the head of Dubai Sports City, was also on the dais and was expected to give the Asia Cup trophy to India.
The Indian cricketers refused to take the stage until Naqvi was there despite the BCCI's unambiguous stance, and the PCB chairman refused to budge.
In light of this, post-match host Simon Doull announced the individual sponsors' awards, which are required in order to thank the event's investors and stakeholders.

To everyone's amazement, the ACC event staff also left with the trophy as Naqvi went off the podium and strolled towards the departure gate, leaving everyone stunned.
Later, the Indian team and support personnel gathered close to the stage for a little celebration and a photo session.
The morning after the match, another video went viral on social media that had the official broadcasters Sony Sports’ presenters Sanjana Ganesan, the wife of India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, and Tanvi Shah also trolling the post-match presentation ceremony.
The video has a crew from Sony Sports imitating to be a presenter. He is seen using a bottle as a mike and announcing: “It’s time for the presentation. From Sony Sports Network, we have Sanjana Ganesan with us, and the game changer of the match goes to Tanvi Shah.”
