There were wild celebrations after India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in Sunday's Champions Trophy final in Dubai. With Rohit Sharma leading the chase with 76 runs off 83 balls and KL Rahul scoring an undefeated 34, India won the Champions Trophy for the third time with a final score of 254/6 in 49 overs. Following victories over Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stage and Australia in the semifinal, India finished the tournament undefeated.
On the field, the families of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were observed engaging in the celebrations. A video of renowned Indian pacer Mohammad Shami introducing Virat to his mother also went popular on social media quite fast.
Being modest, Virat bowed and touched Shami's mother's feet to receive her blessings before posing for pictures with the pacer's family. Later in the day, Shami also shared a photo of his mother and Virat and himself on his official X handle.

Virat later said, "It's been amazing, we wanted to bounce back after a tough Australia tour. Lovely playing with a bunch of amazing youngsters. They're stepping up and taking India in the right direction."
"When you leave, you want to leave in a better position. So many impactful knocks (Shubman) Gill, Shreyas (Iyer), Rahul have played. The team is in good hands," he added.
The heartwarming moment highlighted the friendship between Virat and Shami that is built on mutual respect, camaraderie, and shared battles on the cricket field. Kohli has always been vocal about his admiration for Shami's skills as a fast bowler. He has praised Shami's ability to deliver in crunch moments, especially in Test cricket, where Shami has been a crucial part of India's pace attack.
When Kohli was India's captain, he backed Shami wholeheartedly, often using him as a strike bowler in Test matches. Shami, in return, delivered match-winning performances, forming a lethal pace combination with other fast bowlers.

Even after stepping down as captain, Kohli continues to support Shami, often cheering for his performances. Their bond reflects the unity in the Indian team, showing that true friendships extend beyond the game. Over the years, their bond has been evident both on and off the pitch. Their friendship is the ideal illustration of how cricket creates strong ties based on mutual respect, trust, and achievement.
