Ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand in Dubai, which India won by four wickets, speculations were rife about some of the senior pros stepping down from the 50-over format. Well this doesn't seem to be the case.

It started with the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma addressing the speculations in his own quirky way. This was during the post-match press conference where the skipper noted: "One more thing, I'm not going to retire from this format, just to make sure that no rumours are spread moving forward."

A day later Ravindra Jadeja did the same as he chose to broke silence on Instagram. "No unnecessary rumours thanks," wrote the all-rounder quashing all speculations regarding his ODI future.

Jadeja after completing his spell in the final shared a hug with Virat Kohli, which led to massive outcry on social media speculating his retirement from the format.

Jadeja played his part in India's success by contributing in both departments of the game. He produced an economical performance with the ball, which saw him concede just 30 runs and pick a wicket in his quota of ten overs. He was also required to bat but by the time he arrived the match was almost sealed by India. Jadeja scored nine off six balls, which also him hit the winning runs as India chased down the 252-run target with an over to spare.

While Jadeja didn't had to do much with the bat in the marquee event, he bowled a total of 42 overs in the five matches India played. The all-rounder managed just five scalps in total but it was his line and length, along with his ability to quickly complete overs, which made life difficult for the opposition players.

In fact Jadeja's economy of 4.36 was the most efficient among India's spin quartet featuring Axar Patel, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Kuldeep Yadav.

Rohit, Kohli and Jadeja were three veterans who hung up their boots from the shorter format after winning the T20 World Cup last year and many believed it to be the case after the Champions Trophy final in Dubai.
