Anaya Bangar's popularity has helped her become part of multiple interviews and now a reality show. She is the child of former India cricketer and batting coach Sanjay Bangar, who has undergone a hormonal replacement therapy and gender reaffirming surgery.
Anaya appearing on reality TV show Rise and Fall dropped a bombshell and accused a famous cricketer of sending her obscene photo, which was after she came out public about her gender identity.
"Basically, what happened was, I came out publicly in November last year. Then in December-January, I used to post content, whatever came to my mind, randomly. A cricketer added me, and we did not talk to each other, but he directly sent his photo. That kind of photo," she shared on the show.
When fellow contestants asked if she knew the cricketer, she responded: "Usse sab jaante hai (Everyone knows him)."
This isn't the first time Anaya has faced such horror from male cricketers. “There have been a few cricketers who randomly sent me nude pictures of them," she said in an interview with the Lallantop.
In another disturbing experience, Anaya revealed a veteran cricketer tried to make a sexual proposition after she confided in him about her identity. “There was another instance, when I was in India, I told a puraane (veteran) cricketer about my situation. He told me, ‘Let’s go in the car, I want to sleep with you,'" she said.
Anaya, who initially pursued cricket, has now become a major voice for the transwoman community for their inclusion in the sport. She often drops videos of her batting but as per the existing rules transwoman are prohibited from taking part in the women's category.
