Kieron Pollard of the West Indies became just the second player in history to reach 14,000 runs in the shortest format, adding another illuminating chapter to his dazzling T20 career. At the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad, the powerhouse batter scored an undefeated 19 runs for the Trinbago Knight Riders against the Barbados Royals during the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, marking a historic moment.

As the only player to reach this milestone, Pollard now joins the great Chris Gayle, who leads the chart with 14,562 T20 runs. This accomplishment demonstrates Pollard's endurance and exceptional consistency in leagues around the world, as he has played for almost 20 different teams during his career.

Pollard's influence goes well beyond his ability to score.  He has participated in more than 700 Twenty20 matches, amassed more than 14,000 runs, and taken more than 300 wickets—a record that few players in the contemporary era can match. The 38-year-old all-rounder, who is well-known for his powerful hitting and finishing prowess, frequently wins games on his own by dominating at the end of innings.

In addition to his 14,000 runs, Pollard established himself as one of the most potent hitters in the history of the Caribbean Premier League by becoming the first player to hit more than 200 sixes. Intriguingly, he has a unique record in international cricket as the first player to reach the 200-sixes milestone in both the IPL and CPL.

Pollard continues to demonstrate his leadership abilities and power hitting skills, even when many of his peers have retired. The Trinidadian has further cemented his status as one of the best T20 players of all time by having his name inscribed beside Chris Gayle's in the 14,000-run club.
