The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) missed their first playoff appearance since their debut in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season after finishing seventh in the league stage. Despite having a respectable home record, the Lucknow Super Giants' poor away performance saw them miss out in the playoffs.

LSG registered 4 wins and 3 defeats at home and 3 wins and 4 defeats away. LSG finished in the middle of the table in 2024 thanks to a balanced win-loss record. The team failed to qualify for the playoffs despite good individual performances, exposing areas that need work in subsequent seasons.

The Super Giants won five of their first eight games, but they only managed two victories in their last six games and were especially disappointed with their bowlers.

Rahul scored 520 runs at 37.14 in the 2024 season. But among players who scored 300 or more runs this season, his strike rate of 136.13 was the lowest.

Quinton de Kock, who was Rahul’s opening partner for most of the season, too scored at a low 134.40 (250 runs) and that meant that LSG frequently got off to poor starts.

The season's most valuable batter for LSG was Nicholas Pooran, who smashed 36 sixes while scoring 499 runs in 14 games at a strike rate of 178.21.

LSG's only centurion in the 2024 season was Marcus Stoinis who scored an unbeaten 124 in a run-chase against the Chennai Super Kings. The Aussie overall scored 388 runs at a strike rate of 147.52.

LSG had the lowest run rate in the last five overs of the season (10.43), and their lower-order batters were a major disappointment as they were unable to score runs at the end.

Tearaway pacer Mayank Yadav was only able to play four games due to fitness issues and LSG's ambitions were seriously hampered by his absence.

For LSG, Naveen-ul-Haq was the best bowler finishing with 14 scalps at an average of 26.57. With the third-worst economy rate in the last overs (11.80), LSG struggled especially in the closing stages.
