'I don't speak to Dhoni': Harbhajan Singh hints rift with MS, says 'I stay in touch with ones I'm friends with'

Harbhajan Singh and MS Dhoni are not in good terms? Well that is a difficult question to answer but going by 'Turbanator's' recent remarks on the former India skipper, one can conclude yes there is rift between the former teammates. Harbhajan and Dhoni have played for India together, in fact were part of the squad that won the ICC T20 World Cup (2007) and ICC ODI World Cup (2011).

However, the relation between the two has taken a strong blow as Harbhajan in a recent interaction claimed he hasn't spoken with Dhoni in the last ten years. Harbhajan stated that the last time the two spoke was when he shared the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dressing room with Dhoni but that too was limited to the ground.

"No, I don't speak to Dhoni. When I was playing at CSK, that's when we spoke, but otherwise, we haven't spoken. It's been 10 years and more. I have no reason; perhaps he does. I don't know what the reasons are. When we were playing in the IPL at CSK, that's when we used to talk, and that, too, was restricted to the ground. After that, he did not come to my room, nor did I go to his," the legendary India spinner was quoted as saying by News18.

Harbhajan mentioned that he doesn't have animosity towards the veteran wicketkeeper-batter but indirectly indicated the lack of respect he gets from Dhoni.

"I don't have anything against him. If he has something to say, he can tell me. But if he did, he would have told me by now. I never tried to call him because I have a lot of passion. I only ring up those who pick up my calls. I don't have the time otherwise. I stay in touch with the ones I am friends with. A relationship is always about give and take. If I respect you, I hope you will respect me back. Or you respond to me. But if I call you once or twice but don't get a response, I will probably only meet you as much as I am needed to," added Harbhajan.

The last time Harbhajan and Dhoni represented India together was in 2015, which was during an ODI against South Africa. The ex-India teammates reunited three years later while playing for CSK in the IPL. Dhoni has been an integral member of the CSK family, while Harbhajan represented the franchise for a couple of seasons.
