Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is set to light up the Abu Dhabi T10 League with his flair as he joins the Aspin Stallions, launched by AMH Sports. They are one of five new sides alongside Vista Riders, Ajman Titans, Royal Champs and Ajman Titans to join the competition, scheduled to be played between November 18-30.
Harbhajan will join the first-ever Emirati-owned franchise in the prestigious Abu Dhabi T10 League in alignment with the UAE Vision 2031 to strengthen the nation’s global leadership in sports.
The Aspin Stallions is owned by Ahmad Khoori, a member of the UAE Federal National Council and former senior Vice President of Emirates Airlines.
With a fast-paced 10-over format, the AD T10 league blends international talent, innovation, and entertainment.
“We welcome Aspin Stallions as the first Emirati-owned franchise in the league. This is a proud moment not just for Abu Dhabi T10 but for the UAE’s sporting ecosystem,” Shaji Ul Mulk, founder and chairman of the league, was quoted as saying as per an official release.
The T10 format has established itself in the cricket demographic, having first launched in 2017 in the country. Ever since, a host of present and past cricket icons, including Indians, have graced the tournament, adding to the excitement.
Meanwhile, the legendary spinner turned 45 in July. Although retired, Harbhajan has been occasionally seen rolling his arms for India Champions in the past two editions of the World Championship of Legends.
Apart from the Indian, Stallions have also roped in England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings and left-arm seamer Tymal Mills.
West Indies batter Andre Fletcher, Sri Lanka duo Avishka Fernando and Binura Fernando and United Arab Emirates' Zohair Iqbal round off Stallions' direct signings.
