India’s emphatic win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium triggered an outpouring of emotions across the border, with Pakistani fans taking to social media to vent their frustration.

India defeated Pakistan by five wickets on Sunday night to clinch their record-extending ninth Asia Cup crown.

Tilak Varma anchored the chase with a composed 69 not out off 53 balls, supported by Shivam Dube’s 33, as the Men in Blue comfortably overhauled Pakistan’s 146-run target. Earlier, Kuldeep Yadav’s 4-30 dismantled Pakistan’s middle order after openers Sahibzada Farhan (57) and Fakhar Zaman (46) gave them a solid start.

While India celebrated another continental triumph, fans in Pakistan were left fuming. Clips circulating on X showed several supporters slamming their team’s performance.

One fan, visibly angry after the match, said: “Even if the whole of Pakistan wants to win against India, we can’t. We pick up bodies outside the field and get beaten on the field, too. India was our father and will remain so. Our generation cannot defeat them. We are not even equal to their shoes. They did the right thing by not shaking hands with us Patidars.”

Another fan summed up his disappointment bluntly, saying, “Sab kuch galat hua (everything went wrong).”

Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria took to X to share a picture of a TV in a cage, joking about the long-standing tradition of Pakistani fans breaking their televisions after their team lost to India in a cricket match.

Others pointed fingers at the bowling attack. “We enjoyed the cricket match. But if Haris Rauf had bowled well and not conceded sixes, we would have won the match,” said one supporter, reflecting the widespread anger over Pakistan’s death-overs collapse.

Another fan showed a bit of enthusiasm and said there will be more chances. "Pakistan did not win the match again, but the match was very entertaining...We will come again next time with the hope of winning the match. 'Mauka hi Mauka,'" the fan said.
