India vs Australia 2nd Test predicted playing 11: Team India are ready to lock horns with Australia in a Pink-ball Test in Adelaide beginning on Friday (December 6) with the expected to make at least two changes in the lineup. With return of captain Rohit Sharma and batter Shubman Gill - Dhruv Jurel with Devdutt Padikkal are likely to get dropped. All eyes will be on the batting position of skipper Rohit Sharma who missed the first Test due to personal reasons and played in the middle-order during the game against Prime Minister XI.
KL Rahul did a superb job replacing Rohit on top of the order with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal and it will not come as a surprise if the skipper decides to play at number 5 for the upcoming match.
Coming to India's bowling, Jasprit Bumrah led from the front in the first game and troubled the hosts in all ways possible, so that bowling lineup is likely to remain the same as it was in Perth. For Australia, Nathon Lyon expressed confidence that Mitchell Marsh will be fit to bowl in the second game but he also said he doesn't mind taking on extra overs against India.
India's predicted XI for the 2nd Test vs Australia:
Openers: Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul
Top and middle-order: Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma (captain), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper).
All-rounders: Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar.
Bowlers: Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana.
Australia playing 11 (official): Usman Khawaja, Nathan McSweeney, Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Alex Carey (wk), Pat Cummins (c), Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland.
India's affair with Day-Night Tests so far
India's performance in Day-Night Tests has been marked by notable successes and one unforgettable setback. With three wins out of four matches, their overall record is impressive. However, the memory of Adelaide in the 2020-21 series casts a long shadow. In that match, under the intense scrutiny of the pink ball, India was bowled out for just 36 runs in the second innings—a historic low that remains one of the most shocking moments in cricket history.
