India vs Australia 2nd Test weather forecast, pitch report: Team India have started the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in style with a win by 295 runs in the first Test at Perth. Chasing 534 to win, Australia were bundled out for just 238. Led by Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian bowlers showcased brilliance with the stand-in skipper taking eight wickets in the game including a sensational five-wicket haul.

Coming to the second game of the series which is a Pink-ball Test, India will happy to have two starting players of their lineup back available. Captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were not part of the playing eleven in the first Test.

Ahead of the Pink ball Test, Rohit Sharma demonstrated remarkable dedication by arriving an hour early for the practice session, accompanied by Rishabh Pant and the support staff.

The Indian captain concentrated on refining his technique, meticulously leaving deliveries on length and confidently pulling anything short. His prolonged stint in the nets suggests a strategic adjustment, with strong indications that Rohit might move down the batting order to make room for the in-form opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul.

Adelaide Oval's pitch curator, Damian Hough, has revealed that the wicket for the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will feature a uniform 6mm layer of grass. Speaking to the media on Wednesday, December 4, Hough mentioned that the conditions are expected to favor seamers but spinners as well as the match continues.

When asked if the pitch would heavily favor fast bowlers, Hough emphasized that his team aims to prepare a balanced surface that offers opportunities for batters, pacers, and spinners alike. However, he noted that under specific conditions, such as playing under lights or in overcast weather, the seamers are likely to derive significant assistance from the wicket.

India vs Australia 2nd Test: What did the pitch curator say about the pitch?

"History suggests that it is hard to bat under lights in Adelaide. The pitch will have 6mm of grass. We are trying to produce a pitch that would be a good contest. The pitch did not play a part in the Test match finishing in 3 days last time India were here. I thought that it was really good bowling from Australia. As long as there is something in it for all aspects of the game, I am happy, I just want a good contest," Adelaide Oval curator Damian Hough told the press on Wednesday, 4 December.
