Former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has gone viral after featuring in an Instagram reel with rumoured girlfriend, Sophie Shine. Dhawan's Punjabi attire and playful banter in the video with Sophie Shine has caught the attention of fans across social media.

"Gabbar is back," Dhawan captioned the reel in his trademark style. The video quickly went viral, leaving fans in stitches as the duo recreated a popular reel.

Sophie started by saying, “Guruji, mujhe yaha se jaane ka man nahi kar raha.” When Dhawan asked, “Kyu?”, she replied sweetly, “Mujhe aapke paas rehna hai.” Dhawan, with his usual humor, answered, “Ghar mein kaam karti hogi maa.”


The video surfaced the internet amid growing speculation about Dhawan's dating life, especially after the duo were spotted together at the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

During an event, Dhawan even said he is dating again by saying, "Yes, I have moved on… it was a learning curve for me.” When asked if he was ready to love again, he replied with a smile, "I am always in love!"

Sophie Shine, an Irish product consultant with a degree in Marketing and Management from Limerick Institute of Technology, is currently the Second Vice President at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi.

Shikhar Dhawan officially announced his retirement from all forms of cricket on August 24, 2024. The star Indian opener featured in 269 international matches, amassing 10,867 runs at an impressive average of 40.39, including 24 centuries and 55 half-centuries. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Dhawan played 222 matches, scoring 6,768 runs with two centuries and 51 fifties, maintaining an average of 35.07. His final appearance for India came in an ODI against Bangladesh on December 10, 2022, in Chattogram.

The 38-year-old said he left the scene as a content man, having represented the national team in all three formats since making his international debut in 2010 in an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam.
