Hours before a Pakistan Super League match on Thursday (May 8), a drone struck the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Thursday (May 8), as per IndiaToday. The stadium was set to host a match between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi, two PSL teams.

The development occurred just hours after India destroyed the air defense radar installations in Lahore on Thursday in retaliation for Islamabad's effort to attack 15 military targets in India.

According to the news agency PTI, Pakistan Army spokesman Lt Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had earlier stated that some drones had been destroyed in Lahore, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Miano, Karachi, Chhor, Rawalpindi, and Attock.

The Pakistani army was reportedly left defenseless in Lahore after Israeli-made HAROP drones struck Pakistan's HQ-9 missile defense system units, which were developed by China.

The Army said in a statement that India was thwarting Pakistan's attempt to raise tensions: "India's response has been in the same domain with same intensity as Pakistan."

The Army claims that Pakistan has intensified its unjustified shooting in the Jammu and Kashmir sectors of Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar, and Rajouri across the Line of Control.

The incident occurs one day after India's 'Sindoor' operation targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan. According to sources, the precision strikes in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror incident killed 100 terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
