Smriti Mandhana showed great flair in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup between India and Australia on Sunday. Albeit a defeat, Mandhana certainly impressed with the start she provided after India were invited to bat first by Australia.
The 29-year-old smacked 80 off 66 balls, which enabled her to complete 5000 runs in Women's ODIs. Mandhana achieved the milestone in 112 innings, which is the fastest by any Indian. She overtook Virat Kohli in the process, who had achieved the same in 114 innings.
In the overall list comprising both men and women, Mandhana is only behind Pakistan's premier batter Babar Azam, who took 97 innings, and South Africa great Hashim Amla, who took 101 innings to reach the milestone.
