PM Modi on several occasions has highlighted how his government is putting all its might behind the ambitious bid to bag the hosting rights of 2036 Olympics, with an objective to take Indian sports to new heights and create opportunities across different sectors.
And India will certainly take this opportunity to showcase its preparations to go even bigger than the CWG, such as hosting the Olympics. An Indian Olympic Association (IOA) official speaking to The Indian Express said: “We believe the host for the 2036 Olympics will be declared before the 2030 CWG begins. But by building world-class facilities in a timely and transparent manner, we can show the world that we are different, ambitious and more mature now than, say, 15 years ago,” the official said. “We have learnt our lessons from the past.”
