The search for the entangled whale on the Southern California coast continues as the incident was captured by a drone photographer on Saturday.
According to the photographer named Mauricio Tassara, the whale was around 30-35 feet long, he reported that the whale was stuck in the net and the sight looked life-threatening to him.
Tassara reported that "It was a thick rope that was wrapped right around the very end of its tail, right in front of the fluke. And then it draped over the right side of its fluke... That tail was bent down."
He noticed that the whale was moving south and it suddenly came back to life. Tassara recorded a drawn video and shared that with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's specialized entanglement team.
The team after they got reported about this incident started the search to save the life of the mammal. Captain Christian Batts of Harbor Breeze Cruises, also witnessed the entangled and shared that the whale life is at risk.
According to Batt entangled whales are not common in Southern California. He reported that it was his first time finding a humpback whale entangled in the net.
According to the team searching for the whale, there has been no sign of the whale since Saturday. They have urged the locals to report to the NOAA team if they witness the whale.
