Devotees Gather for Siyaram Baba’s Last Darshan
The news of Siyaram Baba’s passing has drawn a large number of devotees to his ashram to pay their last respects. Baba had been ailing for the past 10 days due to pneumonia. Despite initial treatment at a private hospital in Sanawad, Baba insisted on returning to his ashram, where he received care from district hospital doctors.
Born in 1933 in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Siyaram Baba embarked on his spiritual journey at the age of 17. He devoted his life to spiritual practices, studying under his guru, and traveling to sacred pilgrimage sites. In 1962, he arrived at Bhattayan, where he performed intense meditation under a tree and later became known as Siyaram Baba, after breaking his silence with the chant of "Siyaram."
A Life of Devotion and Simplicity
Baba's daily routine revolved around worshiping Lord Rama and the Narmada River. He conducted daily recitations of the Ramayana and served tea as prasad to visiting devotees. Despite his spiritual stature, Baba lived a simple life, accepting food donations from a few village households, which he would distribute among animals and birds after taking only what he needed.
