Rules for Observing Rohini Vrat- Morning Rituals: Start the day by waking up early and taking a bath. A few drops of Ganga water are often added to the bathwater for purification. Make a resolution (Sankalp) to observe the fast with devotion.
- Worship Practices: Clean the place of worship and install an idol of Lord Vasupujya along with an altar. Offer fruits, flowers, incense, durva (a sacred grass), naivedya (food offerings), and other items to the deity. Perform prayers and rituals before sunset.
- Fasting Rules: No food should be consumed after sunset. Typically, only fruits and water are consumed during the fast.
- Breaking the Fast (Parana): The fast concludes the next day after completing the morning rituals. The fast is broken with light food.
Duration and Completion of the FastRohini Vrat is observed for three, five, or seven years continuously. The recommended duration for the fast is five years and five months. It is concluded with a special ceremony called Udyapana.
