Vadodara witnessed an unusual form of public demonstration when a woman staged a sit-in on a busy road after alleging that a street vendor had given her fewer golgappas than she had paid for. The incident, which took place in the Surasagar locality, brought traffic to a halt and quickly drew the attention of passers-by, police, and eventually, social media users.
According to those present, the woman had handed Rs 20 to a vendor, expecting six golgappas in return. She claimed, however, that she was served only four. Expressing anger over what she described as unfair treatment, she sat down in the middle of the road, refusing to move until the matter was addressed. Her protest led to a traffic build-up in the area as vehicles were forced to stop.
Video clips recorded by bystanders showed the woman visibly upset and in tears, repeatedly stating that she had been short-changed. In the footage, she could be heard insisting that she received only four golgappas for Rs 20 and calling for “justice” over the issue. The unusual nature of her protest, combined with the location in the midst of a busy junction, created a scene that quickly attracted crowds of onlookers.
A woman went to have panipuri but was served 4 instead of 6 for ₹20.She objected, sat down on the road in protest, and even broke into tears.

The police were called to the spot in order to prevent the situation from escalating further. A police officer was seen in one of the recordings speaking to the woman, attempting to pacify her and urging her to vacate the road so that traffic could resume. After some persuasion, she agreed to bring her demonstration to an end and left the area.
While the immediate disruption was resolved, the event did not end there. Once the recordings surfaced online, the incident became the subject of widespread conversation. The videos were shared across several social media platforms, particularly on X, where users expressed a mixture of disbelief, amusement, and commentary on the trivial origins of the protest.
One user wrote, “2 pani puri ke liye satyagrah”. Others described the episode as both “bizarre” and “comic”, noting how a small disagreement with a vendor over street food had grown into a traffic-stalling event that required police intervention.
