The air at Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj was electrified on Thursday evening as renowned playback singer and composer Shankar Mahadevan captivated thousands with his soulful performance. The event was part of a grand cultural programme, Sanskriti Ka Sangam, organised by the Department of Culture at the Ganga Pandal.

Shankar Mahadevan began the evening with a heartfelt rendition of Chalo Kumbh Chalein, a song that perfectly captured the devotion and grandeur of the sacred gathering. The performance resonated with the audience, creating an atmosphere of spiritual harmony. Following this, Mahadevan offered a powerful rendition of Ganesh Vandana, filling the venue with devotional energy.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who lit the ceremonial lamp to mark the beginning of the evening. Sharing his thoughts, Shankar Mahadevan expressed his gratitude for being part of such a significant event. "It is an honour to participate in Maha Kumbh 2025," he said, thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for their vision in making the festival a grand celebration of India's spiritual and cultural heritage.

The Ganga Pandal will host nightly cultural programmes until February 24, showcasing performances by renowned artists, including Kailash Kher, Kavita Seth, Nitin Mukesh, Suresh Wadkar, Hariharan, and Kavita Krishnamurthy. These events promise to immerse devotees in a celebration of India’s rich traditions through music, dance, and theatrical performances.
