Elon Musk on Wednesday took a potshot at Justin Trudeau, calling him a "girl" and reminding him that he is "not the governor of Canada anymore" when the Prime Minister pushed back at Donald Trump's idea of US taking over Canada.
Trudeau, who announced his resignation as Canadian PM earlier this week, said that there is "no chance in hell" that Canada would become an American territory amid Trump's repeated suggestions that it should.
In a post on X, Trudeau said: "There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Canada would become part of the United States. Workers and communities in both our countries benefit from being each other’s biggest trading and security partner."

Musk responded to the post, saying that Trudeau's words do not hold any importance anymore.
"Girl, you’re not the governor of Canada anymore, so doesn’t matter what you say," he said.
Earlier, the Tesla CEO had said that 2025 is looking good while highlighting the major events of the year, including Trudeau's resignation.
“Trump won. Trudeau resigned. Keir Starmer got exposed. Nayib Bukele cut crime by 95% in El Salvador. Javier Milei created the first surplus since 2008 in Argentina. Masculinity is back. Great men are ascendant. And just in time. We’re going to need them,” he said.
US President-elect Donald Trump has repeatedly suggested that Canada should become the 51 state of America and refers to Trudeau as the "governor of Canada". He said he would not use military force to do that, saying he would rely on “economic force”.
On Monday, Trudeau said he will step down as the Canadian PM and the leader of the Liberal Party amid mounting dissent from his own MPs due to gloomy ratings and plummeting economy. The next election must be held by October 20 and polls predict a crushing win for the official opposition Conservatives.
