Elon Musk on Saturday took a dig at former CEO of Twitter (now X) Parag Agrawal, hours after he threatened to fire all US federal employees who fail to submit a detailed accounting of their work week.
Musk, who heads the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) under the Trump administration, responded to a post by an X user who pointed out how the Tesla CEO asked the same thing of Agrawal almost three years ago.
"DOGE: Almost three years ago Elon Musk asked Parag Agrawal what he got done last week. Now he's asking every federal worker the same question," the user said.
In response, Musk said that Parag was ousted from X for not doing anything. "Parag got nothing done. Parag was fired," Musk said.

The X user had also posted a screenshot of an old heated exchange between Agrawal and Musk in which the former X CEO told the tech billionaire that he is "free to tweet- is Twitter dying? or anything else about Twitter."
In his post, Agrawal said: "You are free to tweet- is Twitter dying? or anything else about Twitter- but it's my responsibility to tell you that it's not helping me make Twitter better in the current context. Next time we speak, I'd like to provide you with perspective on the level of internal distraction and how it is hurting our ability to do work. I hope the AMA will help people get to know you, to understand why you believe in Twitter, and to trust you- and I'd like the company to get to a place where we are more resilient and don't get distracted, but we aren't there right now".
In his curt response, Musk had asked Agrawal: "What did you get done this week?"
The public exchange was viewed as a major fallout between the two, which eventually prompted Musk to fire Agrawal from X.
Last night, Musk’s department sent emails to federal employees of agencies including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and others with the subject line reading: “What did you do last week?”
The email, as reported by Reuters, asks employees to reply to the email they have received with five bullet points summarising “what you accomplished at work last week” and copy their managers. The email sent from a human resources address gives employees until 11:59 pm EST on Monday to respond.
The subject line harks back to Musk's poser to Agrawal three years ago.
