Now, adding to the long list of those is the ‘Moye Moye’ trend that has become quite popular on the internet. It is actually a song called “Moye More” by Serbian singer-songwriter Teya Dora released as “Dzanum”. The catchy number has clocked in over 58 million views on YouTube.

While the song is actually about nightmares and despair, it has been mixed with a large dose of humour on the internet.

What is the ‘Moye Moye’ trend?

The viral song, with its simple and repetitive lyrics, is on everyone’s mind right now. The lyrics have been twisted to ‘Moye Moye’ instead of ‘Moye More’. Probably because the numerous people think that the singer is saying ‘Moye Moye’. It is quite a recurrent lyric throughout the track.

Instagram users are creating reels on the song and depicting anything that is heartbreaking in a funny manner. For example, the trend gained popularity when India lost the World Cup final against Australia. Netizens, thereafter, used the sad nature of the track to make amusing reels that went viral in no time.

A majority of those videos depict someone without a body part as well. But, when one character points it out and realises, the others break into a sad ‘Moye Moye’. Several of those clips have went insanely viral and have left people in stitches.

Even the Delhi Police hopped onto the trends bandwagon and shared a warning against rash driving with 'Moye Moye' playing in the background.

“The song is often used as a sound effect in dramatic, sad or emotional memes, with the sound gaining viral prominence on Bangladeshi meme pages in October 2023. The original song was released in March 2023, and the chorus translates to 'My nightmares,” Know Your Meme mentioned.

While the song has a duration of just under three minutes, it still has been declared a superhit by the masses.
